With a background in acousmatic music, film and theater, Brussels-based composer and singer Laryssa Kim just released her debut album Contezza via CityTracks. On this journey where Brian Eno, Enya and Erykah Badu come together, Contezza humbly invites creative introspection, the perpetual invention of oneself, navigating the flow of openness to the infinite details of life. Employing her voice as her central instrument, Laryssa plays with language as she does with sounds, invisible artefacts paying tribute to her Italo-Congolese origins. She conceives the album as an exorcism through beauty, from which emerge ghostly voices and organic, electronic sounds.
