Loverman
Loverman is the solo project of Anglo-Belgian artist James de Graef. On his debut record – simply titled “Lovesongs” – the deep-voiced songwriter reveals himself in a minimalist formula, where the guitar accompanies his twilight poetry. Following in the footsteps of Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave, Loverman evolves in a world of chiaroscuro, and delivers songs that are inhabited by an idea of timelessness. With its uncomplicated yet enveloping atmosphere, and the stirring emotions it unlocks as it travels between love’s joyous highs and its dark side, Lovesongs proves to be a true feast for the heart, mind and soul. What’s not to love?
